Data Implications and Possibilities

Although no individual student data will be available without student permission, aggregate data will be available from the Cocurricular Journal and the Cocurricular Record to help assess the out-of-class involvements of students and the impact of these experiences on educational outcomes.

Data available from student self-report in the Cocurricular Journals include:

  • Quadrant assignments
  • Transferable skills
  • Professional growth reflections
  • Personal growth reflections

Data available from the Cocurricular Record include:

  • Type of activity
  • Term activity occurred
  • Time spent in activity
  • Mentors
  • Quadrants
  • Learning outcomes
  • Specific data as requested by faculty/staff member supervising the experience

Since the Cocurricular Record and the Cocurricular Journal are both linked with Banner, any Cocurricular Journal or Record data can be examined using variables residing in Banner.
